All Special Kids

Geneva, Switzerland

WHO WE ARE

ASK - All Special Kids, previously known as Anglophones Special Kids, is a Geneva-based network, aiming to support the families of children with special needs and learning difficulties. Our goal is to collect, disseminate information and share experiences relating to special needs issues in the region. Although the group focuses on assisting English-speaking parents, we welcome parents of different nationalities, seeking assistance or information on special needs and learning difficulties issues.

The network was founded in March of 2003 by a group of parents who were frustrated at the lack of Anglophone support services for children with special needs in the Geneva area and decided to do something about it. One of its first initiatives was to establish a web site to provide local information on schools, English-speaking specialists, and support groups, as well as web links to other useful special needs organizations. The web site serves as an excellent tool in keeping not only the Geneva community informed but also reaching parents from other parts of Switzerland and parts of European countries. At present, ASK has become the first port of call for parents with special needs kids, arriving to Switzerland from U.S., Australia and other parts of the world.

ASK offers its members, monthly parents support meetings, educational seminars for personal development and bi-monthly newsletter with a thematic focus. Our seminars and workshops are conducted in English and open to members and non-members alike. For kids, bi-annual educational assessment, monthly kid's social and summer camps are being offered in Geneva.

In September 2007, ASK/Bern-Chapter will start its operation. Currently, Bern pages are under construction and information will be available starting in September.
